If you'd like to volunteer and help with the celebratory events, please register your interest here. We’d love your help – no matter how big or small!

For over 150 years, St Stephen’s has been a place of worship, welcome and witness in East Twickenham. From its beginnings in a small 18th-century chapel, the church has grown alongside the community. The cornerstone of the current building was laid in 1875, with services beginning the following year in 1876—and the ministry has continued to flourish ever since.

Throughout its history, St Stephen’s has become a vibrant spiritual home for people of all ages. From children to seniors, the church offers a rich variety of ministries encompassing worship, prayer, family life, pastoral care, and outreach both locally and globally and much more. New facilities such as the Crossway Centre and the Spring extension have supported this growth, helping to create a church that remains deeply rooted in tradition while alive with faith today.

As we celebrate 150 years, we give thanks for all God has done—and we look forward in faith to all he has in store as we continue to Love God, Grow Disciples, and Transform Communities.

As we look forward to celebrating 150 years of St Stephen’s, we’d love to hear your stories—memories, testimonies and moments that reflect how the church has impacted your life or the lives of others.

Whether it’s a funny anecdote, a significant spiritual moment or something quiet but meaningful, your story is part of the legacy we’re celebrating and our prayer for the future!

Capture it your way — written or video, long or short—and submit it using our online form below. If you have photos or video clips to go with your story, please upload them too!

We’ll be using these stories in our anniversary celebrations and a special exhibition—sharing the amazing work God has done through St Stephen’s and anchoring our hopes for the future.

We’re collecting stories from 4 MAY - 27 JULY.

Need a hand? Join us for ‘Story Sunday’ on 22 JUNE after each service — our team will be available to help with filming or sharing.

A Message from Revd Libby Talbot, Vicar of St Stephen’s

“Whilst the 150th Anniversary of St Stephen’s Church invites us to honour and celebrate all that God has done in the past, it also calls us to look forward with faith, hope and anticipation of all that the Holy Spirit is doing and will do as we Love God, Grow Disciples and Transform Communities. We hope that many of you will join us in celebration and prayer, expectant of what God will continue to do among us”

  • We’re collecting stories to celebrate and honour 150 years of God’s faithfulness in the ministry at St Stephen’s. We’d love you to be part of this by sharing your personal memories and testimonies to reflect on the amazing work God has done with and through the church and its ministries over the years.  We also hope these stories will be an anchor for the work we know God has for the future.

  • We’d love to hear any memories, testimonies or moments that capture how St Stephen’s has impacted your life or the lives of others.  We would like to gather your stories in one of 4 categories:
