Bereavement

People grieve the loss of a loved one in different ways. Some need immediate support, while for others feelings may surface later. A team of listeners is available at any stage to support those who have been bereaved, and we also run a Living with Grief Course.

The Living with Grief Course is a series of 5 sessions designed to help those who have lost someone close to them work through some of the issues and stages of grieving. The course is open to anyone of any age who has lost someone close to them through death - whether recently or long ago. Currently we run the course annually in the spring term.

The course usually takes place in a local home, which makes for an environment that is friendly, informal and secure. Each evening there is a short talk followed by discussion in smaller groups.

Rest assured that no one is put under any pressure to say anything they do not wish to, but talking in a safe and secure place with others who have experienced similar things can be a source of strength and encouragement.

The course, while based on Christian principles, is suitable for anyone with or without a Christian faith or church background.
