At St Stephen’s, we count it a privilege to be a part of the significant events of people’s lives, and offer stability and support in changing times. As a parish church, we conduct baptism, wedding and funeral ceremonies. However, understandably during the current situation with Covid-19 there have been some important changes due to Church buildings being closed until further notice.

There are currently no baptism or wedding ceremonies being held at St Stephen’s and there are new regulations around funerals. For further information and to plan future weddings, please contact

Supporting You

We’d love to support you during the changing circumstances that birth, marriage or death can bring.

Baptism: In normal circumstances, we have active Under 5s groups that meet weekly during term-time where new parents can forge friendships and support each other. We hope to have these groups up and running again as soon as we open our church buildings again so please keep an eye on the website for more details.

Wedding: If you’re engaged, our Pre-Marriage Course gets you thinking about all the right questions to prepare yourselves for a healthy marriage. Please contact the church office to find out when the next course is being run, again this will be subject to our church buildings being back up and running again.

Funeral: If you’ve been bereaved, we’d love to offer support to you and your family in whatever way is appropriate, whether now, or in the future. The current guidance on funerals from the Church of England is that they can be conducted with immediate family at a crematorium or graveside. Please get in touch with if we can be of any assistance.
