At St Stephen's we have a range of mid-week activities for seniors in the church and community alike. We welcome anyone to come along and find friendship, support and spiritual nourishment.
Transport can be provided for some of the activities. We ask for a small donation to cover materials, speakers costs, etc., where indicated below.
Lunch Club | Centenary Room | 12.30pm | 1st and 3rd Monday
The Lunch Club offers a warm welcome to seniors from the church and local community. After sharing a meal together there is a short talk or entertainment. £3
Arts & Crafts | Centenary Room | 2.15pm | 1st and 3rd Monday
'Making things to make a difference', this group creates things for local or third world charities, while increasing our knowledge and skills, and enjoying spending time together! £1
Monday Fellowship | Centenary Room | 2.30pm | 2nd and 4th Monday
At Monday Fellowship there is a short devotional time, followed by a talk or entertainment, and refreshments. There is also an annual summer outing. £1
Chairobics | Centenary Room | 2pm | every Wednesday
Chairobics is an excellent exercise class for older people in the church or local community, led by a trained physiotherapist. £2
Seniors Life Group | Centenary Room | 10.30am | 1st and 3rd Thursday
A friendly group that begins with coffee time. We share thoughts on a Bible passage, have discussions in small groups and pray for each other. Microphones are used and lareg print materials are available. There is also a social morning once a term, followed by lunch.
Healing Service | Centenary Room | 10.30am | 2nd and 4th Thursday
This is a reflective service of healing and encouragement, with the opportunity for prayer ministry. We celebrate Holy Communion on the fourth Thursday of the month.
Coffee and Cake
Every Thursday in August apart from the 23rd: Any age welcome: chat, prayer, refreshments.
(We don’t have childcare as such, but children are welcome to come with you).
