Volunteering

All of our services, courses and events are enabled to happen in the way that they do because people at St Stephen’s give so generously of their time and skills. Over 300 people, 40 under the age of 18, volunteer regularly.
We believe in ‘every member ministry’, where everyone has the opportunity to serve the vision of the church through contributing their gifts and time. The staff team aim to enable and equip the whole church to discover their passions and put their talents to good use.
If you would like to volunteer, there are many different ways to do so. You could get involved in a welcome team, serve coffee, help in the church office, offer lifts, cook meals, clean the brass, arrange flowers, volunteer in a specific ministry area or serve on a particular course.

Keeping people safe
We take the wellbeing and safety of our church members seriously, especially our children, young people and vulnerable adults. Some volunteer roles require CRB checks. Please take time to read our Safeguarding Policy Guidance.
YOU SAY
"Volunteering has made me feel so much more a part of the church - I've met loads of people and it opened up a new career opportunity."
